A attractive - early '50 - Territorial Army APJI (Assistant Parachute Jumping Instructors) qualification wing

This is a perfect example (BoBD 5052) of a early issue (from 1955 onwards) cotton on felt with a white cloth backing. Army Personnel attached to the Royal Air Force for the purposes of training parachutists were designated as Assistant Parachute Jump Instructors and wore this proficiency badge on the upper right arm. Authorised by ACI 25 in 1955.
