A attractive (not so often seen type) Airborne - arms of service strip -
This is a superb example of a attractive (not so often seen type) Airborne arms of service strip. These strips were introduced at the end of 1942 and were in use by a mix of Parachute and Glider trained soldiers of the 1st, 6th and the Canadian Airborne Troops till the end of 1944. There is a variation of types and makers of these Airborne strips. This one has a thick lettering and a sort of black 'cheese cloth' backing. These Airborne strips are getting harder to find. This one measuring 9.5x4.0 cm in a perfect and un-issued condition.
